What would it be like to actually LIVE inside a book? I don't mean historical stuff...I mean the fiction stories that give you chills when you read them.
"Eragon"
When I write stories... (not little fairy tales for kids....awesome fantasy stories for teens like me and you)... I scare myself when I notice the feeling I get inside my gut...right in the pit of my stomach and way up deep inside the back of my head. The wanting...wanting to just jump inside the pages and stay there with my characters that are as real and dear to me as any in the 'real' world.
Sometimes the stories I write actually seem kinder to me than the reality of the world I'm living in. I know there's that saying "live in the moment".......but isn't it nice to just let go of the 'moment'...just for a little... and experience a life in another world? Even if that life is only a few
My imagination is my favorite place to run and hide when I'm feeling crumby or when times are just stinking for me...diving into a thought with a nymph or a great Lord or Lady of a magical world is (most of the time) a lot better than staring at my wall...

Use your imagination...write in down...read it aloud...and share the magic of it with others.

I have actually thought of that... like living in a story.... it keeps me busy ;)
ReplyDeleteYa, I know what you mean. When I was reading this particular series, I would have dreams, not just where I was watching the dream, I was IN the story! They weren't like exactly about the books, but they were set in them. Sometimes I would be myself and sometimes I would see through the eyes of the main character. It was pretty neat:) I would have them just about every night afte-r reading the book(s).
ReplyDeleteWell that was a really long comment-sorry!
God bless you!

ReplyDeleteWell...I'm not a big fantasy/science fiction fan...you know that...but I HAVE read many-the-book where the stories came to life so much that I felt SAD when they ended...like I was having to say good-bye to some dear friends...and then I have to stop and think, "Oh, wait...they are NOT real" ha ha
God bless you in your gift for writing Laura...may you always use it to bring Him joy and glory! (As you do...xo)
