Thinking...
I was thinking...
I was thinking about God. How much he loves me...how lucky I am to know Him...
I was thinking...and then it hit me.
God loves EVERYONE equally. I know we learn that when we're, like, 5...but I never really thought about it deeply before.
I didn't fully realize that God loves/loved President Obama, Lady GaGa, Ke$ha, Hitler, Michael Jackson, the person who invented birth control, Terrorists, Tiger Woods, and SO many more...
God loves and knows every one of those people perfectly. He cares about them and wants them to be with Him in the next world just as much as He does me or you.
Did you ever think about that?
I didn't.
And when I DID I was just like........"WOW".

THAT'S TRUE.... I've never thought of that. Weird.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I never thought about it that deeply like you said!!
ReplyDeletePretty moving hu?
ReplyDeleteGod is awesomely amazing :)
Laura
I never thought about that concerning the other people (aka celebrities)... hmm... interesting...
ReplyDeleteGood post. But, I also wanted to pint out that God loves us so much AND he wants us to follow his laws. He loves everyone, including all the people you named, but He will ALWAYS want them to come to Him for forgiveness. As in the parable of the Prodigal Son, the Father RUNS to embrace us when we come home to Him. He will always love us, and He will always want us to come to Him. That was Judas' final mistake. He thought that God could never forgive him for his sin in betraying Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I just thought I would reflect a little :)

Wow, this is a great post Laura...and wonderful comments by your visitors too!
ReplyDeleteI actually HAVE thought of this and throughout my life have found myself spontaneously praying for Hitler, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and others. It gives me to comfort to know that time is eternal with God so our prayers our not limited by it ("time", that is). As for Claire's insightful comments...I also wish to draw attention to the Father in that parable...not only did he run to the son to forgive him...but you will notice that PRIOR to the son's return, the Father watched and waited and loved him....the whole time...and I think that your post, Laura, reflects upon that same love that the Father in heaven has for His wayward children...yes, they must WANT to repent and receive His forgiveness and mercy...but in the meantime...HE LOVES them...He watches...and He waits...with open arms. I encourage all of the readers of Laura's Layout to PRAY for these celebrities...this is not silly, nor insignificant...for many, the grace of those prayers is ALL that will lead them to Christ in their lives. Thanks Laura, I really enjoyed this post:)
Love,
Mom xo
