Did You Feel It Too?
Yesterday our whole house shook.
I was sitting on my bed doing school and the thing just started to rock back and forth. The computer in my room began to rumble and my dresser was vibrating! What came into my head? First, I thought: "What the heck is happening!!!!?????"....second (being Catholic and having strong Christian beliefs): "My judgment has come...OMG!!!!". And my third thought: "I've finally done it...I've gone completely wacko..." (But that's better than thinking a monster truck was in my yard, right?)
LOL. Yep, I was creeped out.
Naturally, my first impulse was to jump off my bed and run out my room (you can picture that, I'm sure..."rolls eyes") I went to the top of the stairs and called down (just to make sure I wasn't insane) "Did anyone else feel that?". Thankfully I received a reply of: "Yeh! That was so cool! The whole house was bumping up and down! HAHA!"
I later learned that the 'shake' had actually been an earthquake in Virginia. When I think about it, I guess it was pretty awesome. ;)
The 'shake' reached DC, Pittsburgh and a bunch of other places too. My Grandma's living room chair was vibrating across her floor! (She lives in Pittsburgh)
I feel sorry for the people in poor old Virginia, though...I hope everything works out 'ok'.
Anyway...that's my epic story for today. "BIG, PROUD SMILE" :):):)
Did anyone else out there feel it?
P.S. KEEP VOTING IN THE CAPTION CONTEST BELOW, OK?!

Yes, we felt it too! I was doing science on my bed, and I thought my back was twitching, and then everything started shaking more, and I looked at my lamp and it was shaking too! My mom yelled, "CLAIRE!" and I went out of my room, and said, "What the heck is happening?!" We went to the middle floor, and it stopped. What is weird is that like 2 seconds before it happened, I was thinking about the end of the world and meeting God and stuff. Crazy, huh?
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Claire
AHHHHH! Here is my earthquake story
ReplyDeleteI had just put the little baby I've been babysitting this summer to bed(she's 2 months). It had taken me FOREVER to get her to sleep. I had just laid her down, and came downstairs when it happened. My very first thought was "no. NO! PLEASE DON'T WAKE THE BABY!!!!!" lol. It never crossed my mind that it was an earthquake till Lyric sent me a text saying "DID YOU FEEL THAT?!?!?!" lol
Yep, that's me ;) haha
