Hair cut!

I never realized how long my hair actually was until after it was cut. And even now it still seems pretty long!)

The End is Near....

Well....looks like Summer is almost over. It's hard to believe, but I AM starting to feel ready for Autumn...pretty leaves and delicious smelling candles :)
This year was good to me. I did and learned a lot. Here's my "STL" (Summer "things" list):

1.) I turned 16 ;)
2.) I went to the pool 4 times total (which is a record for me)
3.) I discovered the 2007-2008 Robin Hood series (which by the way, Charlee...I DID finish! The last ones popped up on instant Netflix again!!!)
4.) I watched seasons 1 and 2 of the 2009 Merlin (I'm working on season 3)
5.) I applied for a job
6.) I received my first nephew!!!
7.) My Pap died... :(
8.) I met my "cousin-in-law"...(if that's such a thing...but you get my meaning)
9.) I saw "Cars" 2 (which was AWESOME)
10.) I finished 2 and 1/2 thirds of my book that I'm writing (its going to be a series and book 1 is almost done!)
11.) I wore eyeliner for the first time (and discovered that I love it :)
12.) I hiphop danced with Jacob (we tore up the floor! lol!)
13.) I read over 15 books (BIG ones too....all of them 2 inches thick...or more)
14.) I made 3 coloring books (Horses, Fairies, and Dragons)
15.) I ate over 13 crabs (NOT all at once...LOL)
16.) I learned how to do a handstand
17.) I walked 1 mile every day
18.) I painted my first "Impressionist", "Cubist", and "Pointillist" paintings
19.) I stayed up till 2 or 3 Am one night watching TV (and eating crabs...which was totally awesome!)
20.) I made 3 new friends :)
21.) I learned not to run in a field full of buttercups barefooted (bee-stings hurt)
22.) I've decided to like dentists...they make my teeth shiny :)
23.) I found 5 girl movie characters that I actually favor
24.) I learned that drinking coffee at 11pm isn't so smart
23.) I only received 7 ticks total (which isn't that much at all, and only 1 of the 7 was actually embedded in my skin. Still sick though, I know)
24.) I got new bedroom carpets
25.) I learned to Rip-Stick
26.) I learned that if you push someone into a swimming-pool...they will get back OUT and seek their revenge
27.) I tried on my first ball gown! (I'm sure most of you saw the pics in that one post a did a while back)
28.) I grew my hair 4-5 inches past my shoulders....and then cut it again because I couldn't stand it


I did SOOOO much more but that would take forever to write down.
Now all I have to do is get my drivers licence and I'll be good....right, Mom? "Hint-Hint"...LOL ~ xo

I love the bright colors on the dark background * * * Someday when I have a loads of time...I'm going to buy the right supplies and paint something like this so go with one of my future books. I bet I could if I put my mind to it and mixed my determination with my love for imagination. (Huh-hey! That rhymes!)

Almost August

I can't believe school is only half a month away.
It went so fast. My Summers always slip away too quickly for my liking :(
This year I'll be in 11th grade....oh gosh. "nervous giggle". Geometry, TONS of paper work, tests tests tests, getting a job, getting a permit (hopefully), saving my money, keeping up on chores, finding blog time ;), and tons of other stuff.
.....16...11th grade...2011...my big year. Oh my. Lol

 Sometimes I feel like my life is a giant tornado. Always spinning and sucking other things up into it (some of them fly back out again...haha). But, on rare occasions, everything calms down...things smooth out...my brain figures out the answers to questions that have been pounding down on it for days or even weeks at a time, and I just take the time to BREATHE. Breathe and enjoy the fact that I'm alive...the sun is shining...it's 85 degrees outside and there's a butterfly outside my window :) Life is good. It might get hectic but it's good just the same.

And now August is just around the corner!!! Before I know it, the leaves will start falling and it'll drop to 45 F. Holidays will pop up...Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas will pass like minutes...and eventually Spring and Summer will come around and it'll be the same thing all over again. Life goes fast; always in motion...never stopping. It actually kindof' creepy...but awesome at the same time. * * *

Goodbye Robin-Hood, Hello Merlin.

So now Jacob and I (as well as my dad :) are starting this series called: "Merlin"
It's about this boy who was born with magical gifts. He eventually travels to Camelot (a land where magic is forbidden) to fulfill his destiny of protecting Prince Arthur as he continues to prepare for the throne.
It is such an awesome series...just like Robin-Hood ("sniff-sniff"...lol).
As you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE fiction, myth, magic, and stuff like that so this is really cool for me :)

The most exciting thing is...my Dad loves this show just as much as I do! (And he is choosy about his movies, so you know this one has to be pretty darn interesting! Haha ~ xo) 

Anyway...My favorite characters? Well....you know that my favorites are usually *(if not always)* the "bad guys"...the thing is, in this series, there's different "bad guys" every time. So, if you want my "main" favorite characters, meaning: people that are in every single episode,They're probably:
Arthur, Merlin and...Gwen.

YES! I, Laura, actually like a girl character in a movie! Imagine that! However Morgana is totally NOT on my favorite list...she reminds me of Keira Knightly in both her personality and even her looks (sorry Charlee....."giggle" ;)

The reason I like Gwen is because she actually behaves like a normal, respectful girl. She is definitely NOT full of herself, she isn't afraid to ask for help, she isn't prideful or arrogant, and she isn't stupid...she knows how to use her brain and still not kill everybody in the process. On top of all that...I just think she's so elegant. Very pretty :)

Pool Time

Jake and I went to the pool again today. It was really fun :)
We met up with Skyler (Jake's football friend and my friend from our parish) along with his brother, Tanner (another one of our friends), and hung out in the water as well as by the basketball hoop (Skyler dunked it almost every time...Jake only missed a few...Tanner didn't play at all...and I got 3 in out of 5. Go figure...LOL)


Anyway...the weather news said it was supposed to thunderstorm today...but it was actually in the 90's or even the 100's the entire time. WHEW! That water felt SOOO good after sweating out a basketball game for half an hour! SOOOO refreshing! :):):)


Well...as you can guess, I pretty much look Hispanic now. Heh-heh.....I kindof' got an "over-tan" if you know what I mean...but that's 'ok'. I'm around 90% Italian so I'm allowed to have dark-ish skin. Right?

I love Hancock pool. It's only $3 bucks to get in, and Jake and I see pretty much all of our really good friends there (especially if it's 100 degrees outside. No one that lives 5-20 minutes away from a pool is going to stay home in that kind of weather!).


How has your summer been going? Has it been totally hectic? Full of water and lemonade? Relaxation and de-stressful-tation? (If that's even a word...which I'm pretty sure it's not. ;)
If your feeling overwhelmed...take my advice and close your eyes, and just breathe. BREATHE.
It's Summer. School doesn't start for a few more weeks...enjoy yourself!
