Appealing Autumn

There are so many things that I totally LOVE about Autumn. Smells, colors, warm clothes, hot drinks...all that good stuff is just so appealing to me :)
My favorite season is probably late Spring/early Summer, but Fall is definitely my second!

Here's the stuff I love most about Autumn:


1.) Good smelling CANDLES (cinnamon, pumpkin pie, etc.)
We actually got a 'candy corn' candle last year. The wax was even orange white and yellow! And it DID smell like the candy! It was awesome!

2.) Millions of COLORS
When all of the trees are finally turned color, I start seeing things in their shades. There's this one tree that turns bright orange and red every year that makes me think of a giant mango. And this other one that turns a perfect yellow...those little banana candies. RUNTS, I think their called. Lol ;)

3.) Warm CLOTHES
I LOVE wearing cute sweaters, colorful socks, warm hats and comfy sneakers! My goal this year is to get a pair of those awesome socks with toes! They look totally me! (awesome and lil' scary at the same time, heh-heh!)

4.) Hot DRINKS
I love my coffee. We're best friends. LOL
This is actually going to be the first winter I drink it. I'm so excited! I didn't last year...It's funny. I drank steaming hot coffee all Summer long! ;)
Hot Apple Cider is my second fav' in the "warm beverages" variety. So yummy! xo

5.) VISITING
One of my most favorite things to do during the Holidays is visit my relatives and friends. Just the warm sense of security and love that seems to swallow up the atmosphere makes me feel so blessed and wanted.

6.) Putting up DECORATIONS
Decorating is much fun for me! Hanging up wreaths and taping paper chains is so enjoyable to my taste! Oh, and those little pumpkin and autumn-flower center pieces? Cute to the extreme!

7.) SMELLS in general
Now, I'm not just talking Pumpkin Pie and Turkey here (both of which are amazing!)...I also mean the smell of Autumn itself. That scent you sometimes catch when your at a baseball game or when the grass has just been cut...or even right after it's rained. The smell of Autumn...nothing like it.

8.) Different SOUNDS
The sounds of crunching leaves and falling nuts. "Sigh". Its funny how something so noisy could seem so peaceful...like nature is working just the way it should.

9.) The FOOD
OH! The wonderful food! Delicio!!!
Cranberry sauce, potatoes, soups, turnkey, roles, deviled eggs....HURRAY!!!!!

10.) SQUIRRELS
Yes, Squirrels. Chipmunks too! Those tiny things look so adorable stuffing their faces! Gives me that feeling when you lift your eyes brows, do 'the lip' and squeak: "AAAAAWWWW!!!!". .....or at least I do. wouldn't be surprised if I was the only one, it is pretty freaky. Lol

In short...I'm very excited that Autumn is here!
Or maybe it's just that Thanksgiving is coming up....oh well. Lets just say I'm looking forward to both :)

Crazy or Amazing???

I was wondering...
Have you ever had one of those times when everything just seems to go totally wacky?
I have...but this past month things have been happening that really made me blink once or twice...stuff that's never happened before.

First, I saw a squirrel fall out of a tree.
Now how many times have you seen a squirrel fall out of a tree???!!! You haven't! Because they never do! But this fat thing plopped right in front of me so hard that a puff of dust exploded all around it!
Of course I was dieing of laughter but then something else happened that gave me a straight face...

Jake and I were talking on our front porch one night. It was, like, 9pm. and really peaceful so we popped some pop-corn and sat down to relax. When we were done, Jake chucked our leftover seeds into the yard. 30 minutes later we heard a crunching sound. I looked down the steps and this red fox was chowing down on our seeds! I clapped my hands, but all it did was tilt it's head at me.
Jake and I continued chatting for another half hour...and that animal just sat there listening!!!!
Obviously, we came to the conclusion that it was rabid and stayed indoor for a week...

The next things that happened was pretty weird...
A bat fell into our fireplace.
.... 6  times!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first night my dad was away so we called and he told us to stuff all the fire-place cracks with grocery bags until morning. In the morning, the bat was gone. It kept falling down that chimney for an entire week!!! It was really cute...tiny, fluffy and brown....but it got down right annoying after a while!

....These two baby deer (named them Rutt and Tutt) were in our yard.
I was taking a walk and noticed them right away, slowly sitting down in the grass to watch the little creatures nibble their grass with talented concentration. (lol)
After about 5 minutes...they walked right up to me!!! For the next week those two little deer would show up and stalk me every time I took my walk!
(It was totally adorable but those stupid things are going to get themselves shot if they don't wise up and learn a sense of fear.)

Anyway...then came the dragon flies.
I'm talking THOUSANDS here.
Everywhere you looked (literally) there were dragon flies. But that's not the freaky part. The weird thing is...they suddenly all disappeared! ......SCARY

(On top of all this it had been raining for literally a month without stopping...... ??????)

Does anyone know what is happening to the society of nature??!!!!
Are all the animals going insane?! Am I?!.....Or s the world ending?!!!

How Most Stories Begin

I randomly took this pic today. I was bored and on top of that, in my "writers mode". Thought it was kinda' neat :)

I'm almost finished with my first book for my series "Spells and Secrets". I hope to get done before the end of November, but then I'll have to read the whole thing again and edit it. It's pretty exciting though, to know that I'm so close to accomplishing it. :)
Writing is my heart.
Drawing is one of greatest loves as well, but me and writing are like pen and paper. Someday (whenever that will be) I hope to get some of my stories published. That would be amazing for me. * * *

Life and Its Contents

Life is what you make it.
You can't truthfully say "my life stinks" unless you're willing to let it be that way.

Things happen in life. Stupid things, heart wrenching things, scary things; some things that might have been avoided if you would just try to make a change.

Everything is a choice. Think about it. They're not all good choices...but every matter, every situation, every opportunity, involves someones choice nonetheless. What choice will you make today?
You can't point a finger at someone or something for a thing that you've done or that's happened to you. Remember...you've got three fingers pointing back.

Life is sometimes like a car wreck..................
Say you "borrow" (AKA: steal) your dad's car for a day. Your family is out of town and you thought you might just safely drive down to a friends house for a few hours and then come right back home before your dad gets back.
On the way there you come to a stop sign on your right. Another car pulls out from behind it without stopping like the sign says to do. The car rams right into the right side of your dad's vehicle and you go spinning off of the road.
When a PO gets there with your dad, you say "it's not my fault that crazy driver drove right through the stop sign!"...But in fact...(even if law says differently)...you know that none of it would have happened if you hadn't taken your dad's car in the first place. Therefore, the accident is your fault.

Life is like a rain drop.
The little thing is just barely hanging from your porch rail; getting weaker and weaker until finally...it falls off. You'll never get that raindrop back. Others will fall but that one is gone forever.

Enjoy the beauties of life while you can. Stoop down and smell the roses.
Reach into the thorn bush and pull out a raspberry...it's worth the pricks.

Life is so fast.
One minute you're on your first day of Kindergarten, the next you're watching the video tape.
Those moments need to be cherished. Even if your just washing the dishes or going to a football game you need to realize that even as you breathe your life is flying by. Each breath you take, you're taking one step closer to the end.
We're all dying. In everything we do the clock of life is just ticking away and we don't even know it half the time. We can't stop it either. So are you going to stand there and watch the hands go round'? ...Or will you go do something wonderful while you still can? Even if you're simply picking up some toys in the yard...every moment is special...if that's what you want it to be.
