We've been having computer trouble and actually caught a TROGEN Virus!!! (Don't worry, though...it's being killed as I speak! Lol)

I love St. Patrick's Day.
Maybe its because I love green.....or maybe its because of the cookies and chocolate coins....Or just the fact that everything seems so alive and spring-time-ish when it comes around :)
But lets get real...what's St. Patrick's Day about?
The Saint, people....duh.
Not little green leprechauns with orange beards and gold buckles running around and taunting people about the special pot of gold that they're never going to give them... or sending folks off on wild chases under rainbows. That's not what Patrick's day is about... and in my mind, its kindof' creepy. Unnatural. Demented. And totally something I would think up (getting my point here????)

Enjoy your chocolate, but keep an eye out for any strange little giggles or tapping, skittering footsteps coming from underneath your fridge. My Kinder garden teacher (when I went to school in Hagerstown) did that to me once......painted little black footprints leading under our schoolroom fridge. Ever since then I've been completely worried and suspicious when it comes to tails of lil' wee men with hats and curled-tip shoes...It Scarred me for life. Don't let it happen to you.
(Maybe that's why leprechauns "exist"......they're God's way of dealing punishment for all of the stupid things we've done. Little men in green and gold suits.........the worst form of torture there is.)















 (You can't look at that and say it's normal!...............He'd totally fit in at Walmart though.)

My Mom and I have watched a full length movie on this same subject, but this specific one was no less heart-rending for me.

We live our lives, every day, the same as we have always done...we wake up, eat breakfast, do our schoolwork, and complete everything else that's scheduled into our lives...and we have no idea about the horrors that other nations, other people, are going through day after day...year after year....or...we just don't care.

This movie can make people care. It can force them to go outside their own comfortable everyday lives and give something back to the rest of the world; a world that needs every prayer and every form of support that we are able to give. 

When I watched this video myself, I was moved in several ways...

one...I was stabbed with sadness. 

two...I was filled with anger

three...I immediately wanted to help in any way I could

I felt sorry for, not only the children and families of this horror-stricken country...but also for Joseph Kony, the man striking this horror. What entered his heart and made it so heartless? How awful was his own childhood that he would grow up to be the #1 most wanted criminal in our nation?

What about these children? They must hopelessly wonder day and night what kind of life would be so pointlessly hateful that they can't even go to sleep and have the common assurance that they will actually wake up in the morning...or that one of their siblings won't be missing...or that their parents will still be physically intact. They must wonder what kind of God would exist and let this happen to them for over 20 years...  

These people need help. If one evil man, a man such as Joseph Kony, can make this huge of a indescribable difference all over his country...then thousands of Americans today...and people all over the world...can make a difference too.

We can stop him...YOU can stop Joseph Kony.

  





 

PassionPlay

Our "Passion Play Practice" ( for Lent ) has been going well so far. I'm really looking forward to doing it again this year. Jake and I have been in it for 3 years now and even though its only 45 minutes long and preformed in a tiny church, I love it more and more each time I do it :)
This time I'm going as Mary. Jake's playing Jesus, like he did last year....we thought it was kinda funny......ME....playing his Mom. "hardy-har-har" ;)
Here's the slideshow from last year's "Passion Play"...hopefully we'll get another one done for this year and I can post that for ya too :D

I heard that there's actually going to be two parts to the Hobbit. The first is "The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey"....the second; "The Hobbit - There and back Again". Obviously, despite my superhuman cyberspace tracking skills, I haven't found a trailer for the second one yet. :)
The casting is just perfect. A self-evident truth/fact.
I love the costumes! Gold chains, leather, fur, its all so realistic to my imagination!!!!
And get this, they've actually BUILT REAL HOBBIT HOUSES in NewZealand for this movie! Real stone, wood, paint, door with one doorknob, the works! (Said they intend to leave it there after the movies are finished for the public to enjoy!!!!! AAAHHH! So COOL!

Vinegar

A few days ago, my Mom and I were talking about....well...I don't really remember what we were talking about, exactly. All I DO know is that somehow VINEGAR found it's way into the subject. From there we talked about how we could use it to make house cleaner and other products, instead of just always buying Windex. Then I got to thinking (aloud, actually ;) what IS Vinegar anyway? Well, we called Grandma (she literally has a book on Vinegar!) and she gave us the answer:

Vinegar is a liquid substance consisting mainly of acetic acid and water, the acetic acid being produced through the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria.^[1] It is today mainly used in the kitchen, but historically, as the most easily available mild acid, it had a great variety of industrial, medical, and domestic uses. Commercial vinegar is produced either by fast or slow fermentation processes. In general, slow methods are used with traditional vinegars, and fermentation proceeds slowly over the course of weeks or months. The longer fermentation period allows for the accumulation of a nontoxic slime composed of acetic acid bacteria. Fast methods add mother of vinegar (i.e., bacterial culture) to the source liquid before adding air using a venturi pump system or a turbine to promote oxygenation to obtain the fastest fermentation. In fast production processes, vinegar may be produced in a period ranging from 20 hours to three days.

So....Vinegar is a little more complicated than you thought, hu? ....Me too.
They tell you that it's actually REALLY healthy to consume at least 3 table-spoons of Vinegar a day; that it cleans out your system.
That's just not right...........I guess Vinegar is just another version of that medicine to cure all ailments like they had in the medieval days............VINEGAR: Good for Windex, cleaning oven tops, scrubbing toilets, wiping counters, cleaning knobs, shining handles, wiping floors.........drinking.
Sure........why not drink something you scrub your toilet with? Why not?!
(Is it just me, or can someone tell me that that is totally messed up?!)
Go ahead, everyone...go take your dose of fermented acid for the day!
